Atlas Soil Displacement Piles - The technique is a vibrationless auguered system that is increasing in popularity. It generates virtually no material at the surface and therefore avoids the ever escalating cost of spoil removal. It is particularly relevant to Brownfield sites where contaiminated soils may be a consideration. The shaped auger causes lateral displacement of the earth so soils are not brought to the surface or transmitted between layers during the drilling process. The piles achieve high shaft friction characteristics throught the flanges formed as the pile is constructed.
